The New York dating scene

Word on the street here in Brooklyn is that the male-female ratio in New York City favors men, creating an environment where men have the upper hand in dating relationships, and can "get away with" unkind behavior. Is this true? I don't know, but I do know that dating does not always inspire the most truthful interactions. By truthful, I mean being true to one's heart.

Dose

This is from a conversation I had with my mom.

My mom's voice is in black thread; I am in maroon thread.

I threw rocks at your window

He and I never dated, but he did go out with a friend of mine. She wouldn't say much about their few dates, other than that they were going to be friends. He later told me he threw rocks at my window one of the times they were out. He seemed disappointed that I didn't respond.

Covetously

The blue and white checked fabric is from an old quilt of mine that has disintegrated. I have been cutting the fabric away from the batting (the stuffing), washing it and incorporating it into my work.

Fly on back home
